CES 2023: A Glimpse of Tomorrow in Today’s Tech

December 23, 2023

CES

The most influential tech event of the world, CES, returned again this year – hosting more than 3,000 exhibitors and startups from across the globe. With well over 100,000 attendees, there is no bigger stage for tech companies to showcase their products. And for us, there was no better opportunity to explore the innovations that may become a part of our daily lives.

Ranging from enhanced smart home tech, faster gaming rigs, to more impressive electric vehicles, our time at CES 2023 was filled with awe and insightful learnings. Although the event showcased many intriguing products and solutions, some stood out from the others.

Here are a few of them that got us thinking the most:

The Big and Wireless

Over the years, we’ve seen countless TVs with better displays and sleeker designs – so much so that they no longer seem eye-catching. But that wasn’t the case with the world’s biggest wireless OLED TV we saw at CES. What was so unique about it you might ask? It stood-out not just for being extraordinarily big and cableless, but also for being equipped with “proprietary vacuum attachment technology”.

The ingenuity of this product lies in the features it offers. The TV is powered by a hot-swappable battery that promises to last a full month before requiring a recharge. Moreover, the product is complemented by a wireless transmitter box unit, which can be kept up to 30 feet away. With its in-built camera, the TV can also be controlled via hand gestures. The proprietary vacuum attachment technology allows you to place it wherever you want, without going through the hassle of making a permanent wall mounting.

Innovative Ways to Flex

Foldable phones are no strangers at the CES. This year, however, a new mobile device concept called “the Flex Hybrid” managed to catch our attention. As the name suggests, this device can flex in more ways than one.

It’s capable of not just folding but also sliding out to extend itself, allowing a much bigger screen area. The device can fold like a notebook, but has an adjustable tablet-sized display when opened. The flex hybrid design enables you to switch between a 10.5-inch and 12.4-inch display, with the screen having an aspect ratio of 4:3 and 16:9. Even though it’s only a concept, this device may become a promising successor to the foldable phones we use today.

Tech can also be Adorable

Smart home tech continues to evolve each year. At CES 2023, there was no shortage of interesting smart home devices designed to ease our daily lives. However, this time around, it was a robotic canine named Dog-E that won hearts. This is an app-connected robot dog that is unique to each user, meaning no two of these are ever alike. Its interactiveness and uniqueness comes from its over 1 million possible combinations of lights, sounds and also personality traits, making every Dog-E one of a kind.

It’s impossible to talk about smart home tech without mentioning Matter. With its official launch in November 2022, Matter has finally made its appearance on a wide-range of smart home hubs from the top global brands. Thanks to its open-source protocol, it makes the interoperability between different smart home devices seamless, providing a deeper connectivity and integration to smart home users.

No Glasses, No Problem

Gaming laptops and consoles always manage to generate a considerable amount of hype. At this year’s CES, however, it was the laptop with a 3D display that made our heads turn. The differentiating factor of this laptop is that it doesn’t require you to wear 3D glasses.

The laptop’s OLED screen delivers a 3D viewing experience without needing 3D glasses. The OLED screen’s high contrast and quick pixel response time plays a key role in diminishing Crosstalk and Ghosting, which helps in rendering sharp 3D pictures. The laptop is also equipped with eye tracking to better adjust and orient the whole 3D experience.

Ownership Experience Matters

With tech being at the centre of our lives, CES 2023 offered us a peek at how it keeps evolving. Whether it’s the laptop with a 3D display or the mobile device with the Flex Hybrid design, these products are capable of making our routines smooth and easy.

However, all this is only possible when our ownership experience is seamless. No matter how innovative a product is, it can only deliver the best value when protecting and maintaining it is hassle-free.

This hassle-free ownership experience ultimately stems from an intuitive after-sales service platform that offers a comprehensive product care solution. With Servify Care you don’t have to worry about keeping track of individual plans for each of your smart products – all you need is a single plan to protect them all.
